GREEN & CLEAN STANDARDS

Over more than 28 years of establishment and development, Hanoi French Hospital (HFH) has not only been known as a pioneering international hospital providing high-quality medical services, but also as a leading green, clean, and sustainable hospital model in Northern Vietnam. With a development strategy that integrates environmental responsibility and community health, HFH consistently invests in modern operation systems, rigorous hygiene standards, and energy-saving solutions to ensure a comprehensive care environment—both physically and mentally—for patients.

GREEN & CLEAN STANDARDS

Smart and Energy-Saving Building Management System

The entire infrastructure of Hanoi French Hospital is centrally managed and monitored through the Building Management System (BMS)—an advanced technology platform that enables full automation and continuous supervision of critical technical systems such as air conditioning, ventilation, and lighting. This system helps the hospital optimize operational efficiency, minimize energy loss, and ensure that all technical parameters remain at ideal levels for medical activities.

High-efficiency central air compressors, Heatpump systems, inverters, and temperature sensors across the air-conditioning system (Chiller, AHU, PAU, FCU) allow flexible power adjustment according to actual load. As a result, HFH maintains maximum operational efficiency while significantly reducing annual electricity consumption.

Heat energy from exhaust air is recovered to cool the fresh air supplied through Primary Air Units (PAU), while CO₂ sensors in the basement levels monitor air quality to ensure absolute safety for staff and patients.

In addition, the lighting system uses 100% LED bulbs, controlled via a centralized system that adjusts lighting by area, season, and time of day—saving energy while providing natural and comfortable illumination.

Green and Friendly Spaces

Hanoi French Hospital is designed with energy efficiency and user comfort in mind. All glass walls and windows are made of double-layer safety vacuum glass coated with UV-resistant insulation, which limits heat absorption and reduces noise while maintaining natural light and an open view—an essential factor in healthcare environments.

Nearly 40% of the hospital’s total area is covered with greenery, creating a fresh and relaxing atmosphere for both patients and healthcare staff. The campus is designed like a small park in the heart of the city.

Medical Waste Management, Wastewater Treatment, and Green Operations

HFH has implemented a comprehensive chain of environmental management solutions, including a biological wastewater treatment system, waste segregation at source, and the use of biodegradable waste bags. All processes are strictly controlled from generation and collection to handover to specialized service providers for final treatment, ensuring full compliance with regulations from the Ministry of Health and international environmental standards.

An electronic anti-scaling system is installed in the central water supply line to reduce calcium buildup, enhance heat exchange efficiency for heating devices, and extend the lifespan of the system.

The hospital was granted an Environmental License by the Hanoi People’s Committee in 2024.

Comprehensive Hygiene and Disinfection Standards

In addition to green operations, hygiene and disinfection are among HFH’s top priorities to ensure a clean, safe, and sterile hospital environment.

From the main lobby and corridors to patient rooms, visitors can easily notice the cleanliness in every detail. The housekeeping team works continuously throughout the day, frequently inspecting and cleaning all areas, including hidden corners and less-accessible spots.

The hospital’s operating rooms adhere to the strictest hygiene and infection control standards. The central sterilization department serving the surgical area meets the highest international standards for sterility, infection control, and instrument processing.

Awards

Thanks to its consistent efforts in energy management and environmental protection, Hanoi French Hospital was honored with the title “Green, Clean Hospital and High-Quality Healthcare Services” in 2024.

Additionally, as early as 2022, Hanoi French Hospital received the “5-Star Green Energy” certification from the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Second Prize for “Energy Efficiency in Construction Projects 2022” awarded by the Vietnam Association of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Science and Technology under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

These awards not only recognize HFH’s advanced technical solutions but also reaffirm the hospital’s commitment to sustainable development in healthcare.

Hanoi French Hospital will continue to invest, improve, and operate according to international standards for energy efficiency, environmental hygiene, and medical safety, aiming toward the long-term goal of building a sustainable healthcare environment for the community.
