Medical team
At the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology – Hanoi French Hospital, postpartum care for mothers and babies is carried out under the close supervision of a team of doctors, midwives, and nurses.
Obstetricians are primarily responsible for monitoring the mother’s health after delivery: examining surgical or perineal stitches, assessing uterine contraction, monitoring blood loss, guiding medication use, and advising on proper nutrition and rest. They also work closely with pediatricians to ensure comprehensive care for both mother and baby before discharge.
Anesthesiologists continue to monitor mothers after delivery, assessing pain management, evaluating anesthesia effects, and promptly addressing any unusual reactions. Depending on the mother’s condition and needs, the doctor will adjust the pain relief regimen to support faster recovery, reduce fatigue, and help mothers regain mobility sooner.
Midwives are on duty 24/7, assisting mothers with daily care, monitoring vital signs, changing dressings, guiding gentle movement, and supporting breastfeeding.
Neonatal nurses are also present around the clock to observe and assist newborns with bathing, feeding, sleeping, diaper changes, and to guide families on proper newborn care at home.
