ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL CARDIAC STUDY USING ABBOTT ENSITE X EP SYSTEM – THE LATEST 3D CARDIAC MAPPING SYSTEM – FIRST IN VIETNAM

Electrophysiological cardiac study (invasive cardiac electrophysiology) is a technique used to assess the heart’s electrical function through catheters inserted into its chambers.

ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL CARDIAC STUDY USING ABBOTT ENSITE X EP SYSTEM – THE LATEST 3D CARDIAC MAPPING SYSTEM – FIRST IN VIETNAM

The purpose of this procedure is to evaluate the cardiac conduction system, analyze electrical activity at specific sites, and identify the mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias, thereby enabling accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning.

This technique can detect abnormalities that non-invasive methods such as ECG, Holter monitoring, or echocardiography may not definitively identify.

At Hanoi French Hospital, electrophysiological studies are performed by highly specialized cardiologists in a sterile interventional suite, following the highest European standards.

Notably, the hospital is equipped with the newest-generation, first-in-Vietnam Abbott EnSite X 3D cardiac electrophysiology mapping system. This technology enables millimeter-level precision in identifying arrhythmia mechanisms and ablation targets, significantly enhancing treatment success in complex rhythm disorders:

  • The Advisor HD Grid mapping catheter, using omnidirectional voltage sensing technology, eliminates bipolar blind spots and captures all signals — including those that earlier-generation systems may miss. Its unique design allows high-density, multipolar mapping, highly effective in complex arrhythmia cases.
  • The Automap and Turbo Map modules allow acquisition of up to one million data points and generate maps ten times faster, reducing overall procedure time.
  • The EnSite VoXel mode provides high stability and is unaffected by patient movement, even after cardioversion, making it particularly suitable for prolonged and complex interventions.
