Hanoi French Hospital (HFH) was the first and only international hospital in Hanoi and Northern Vietnam when it opened in 1997. Today, it remains one of the leading international hospital serving local and foreign patients from the entire Northern Vietnam region with its new, state-of-the-art facilities, up-to-date medical equipment and most importantly, internationally trained doctors and healthcare professionals, able to communicate in multiple languages.
For over 25 years, Hanoi French Hospital has been dedicated to delivering “First Class Health care” for those who live and work in Hanoi and Northern Vietnam. Located in the central Dong Da District, Hanoi French Hospital offers a full spectrum of specialised medical care, fully consistent with international standards of safety, and quality as well as Vietnamese regulations, all in an integrated international style hotel-hospital facility for the best possible patient care.

Hanoi French Hospital has earned multiple accreditations and awards, including a Medal of Merit and Courage from the French Government in 2003. We are very proud to have been one of the very first medical institutions in Vietnam to adopt the ISO 9001 quality management standard (QMS) in 2007. ISO 9001 is the most widely stablished quality framework worldwide, providing a proven foundation for an effective quality management system, focused on safety and quality of healthcare outcomes. This accreditation was continued to be certified with ISO 9001: 2015 in 2021 to include the hospital’s new and expanded facility and organisation.
Our hospital is renowned for our comprehensive range of European-style medical services, including A&E, diagnostic and consultative outpatient services, in-patient hospitalization services, maternity, pediatrics, surgical, interventional and internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, medical laboratory, telemedicine, as well as dental and orthodontic care, just to name a few.
Hanoi French Hospital is especially proud of its state-of-the-art operating theatre complex and central sterilization unit with dedicated post-anesthesia care units (PACU), all equipped with the latest international standard medical technology, facilitating an outstanding hygienic, safe and multi-disciplinary approach to surgery.
Chronology
- September 1997: Vietnam International Hospital established, as a joint venture between IMC Australia and Bach Mai Hospital Vietnam
- September 2000: Converted from a joint venture into 100% foreign owned capital, adopting the French model of hospital care and renamed L’Hôpital Francais de Hanoi
- 2007: Certificate of Quality Management System according ISO 9001
- 2007 – 2012: Excellent Hospital Award granted by the Ministry of Health
- July 2016: Start of the expansion project to increase from 68 to 170 inpatient beds.
- July 2019: New 7 floor in-patients Building B comes into operation
- April 2022: New Out-patient building with A&E/ Emergency & Consultations put into operation
