Our Urology surgical team is composed of leading French and Vietnamese urologists. The department prioritizes minimally invasive techniques for diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the urinary and genital tract in both male and female patients.
At HFH, we utilize minimally invasive surgical procedures and non-surgical treatments such as lithotripsy.
On average, around 2,000 patients are consulted and treated each year and over 400 operations are performed, of which 95% are laparoscopic (‘keyhole’ surgery).

Facilities and Equipment
Modulith Slk-Strorz LEC machine, latest technology from Germany
Kidney stones are a very common problem in tropical climates such as Vietnam. If left untreated the condition can cause extreme pain and progressive kidney destruction. At HFH we use modern technology with our Storz Lithotripsy Shock Wave Therapy unit which breaks up renal stones by magnetic field mechanism, using x-ray and ultrasound to determine the position of the stone with the help of 3D screen. This is a painless and completely non-invasive method which does not require anesthesia, minimizes discomfort and significantly reduces recovery time.
The system allows us to treat almost all types of renal stones sized <2cm, bladder stones, ureteral stones (except pelvic ureteral stones), and some rare conditions that have a contraindication to shock wave therapy.
New generation TURis bipolar electrodes for the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia and bladder tumors.
Benign prostatic enlargement is a common condition, normally causing difficulties in urinating or urine retention and is most common in middle aged or elderly men.
Bipolar surgical devices allow the resection of the prostate with saline irrigation, which lessons electrolyte disorder and water absorption syndrome after the procedure, also reducing time needed for the surgery in cases with large prostate glands.
Olympus endoscopy system
State of the art endoscopy systems provide our surgeons with highest image quality and allow for accurate diagnosis precise and effective surgical procedures.
