Diagnostic Imaging
The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Hanoi French Hospital provides a full range of advanced imaging services, meeting demands from routine diagnostics to specialized interventional procedures. With a team of highly skilled doctors and technicians, together with state-of-the-art equipment, the department ensures accurate results, strict radiation safety, and rigorous infection control standards.
Our radiologists work closely with all clinical departments in the hospital to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up, ensuring comprehensive and effective patient care.

Scope of services
X-ray:
- Digital X-rays of the chest, sinuses, spine, bones, and joints
- Digital mammography
- 3D panoramic, cephalometric, and CBCT dental X-rays
- Contrast X-rays (digestive, urinary, uterine–fallopian tubes, joint, bile duct)
Ultrasound:
- Transfontanellar brain and spinal cord ultrasound
- Ultrasound of salivary glands (parotid, submandibular) and thyroid (including cervical lymph nodes)
- Breast, soft tissue, head and neck, and axillary ultrasound
- 4D color Doppler ultrasound for vascular and cardiac assessment
- Abdominal, kidney–bladder, and inguinal ultrasound
- Uterus–ovary and obstetric ultrasound (2D, 3D, 4D, HD live)
- Testicular and prostate ultrasound
- Musculoskeletal and soft tissue ultrasound
- Pleural ultrasound
- Ultrasound for certain gastrointestinal disorders
Computed tomography (CT scan):
- Coronary CT angiography: Evaluates the coronary artery system and calcium score, enabling early detection of coronary artery disease in at-risk patients for effective screening and timely intervention.
- Cerebral CT angiography: Detects abnormalities in the cerebral vasculature and provides perfusion imaging to assess early ischemic lesions, highly valuable in treatment planning.
- Dual-energy CT: Enables early and accurate diagnosis of gout, assesses kidney stones (hardness, chemical composition, etc.), supports surgical planning, and reduces imaging artifacts in patients with orthopedic implants or metallic prostheses.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI):
- Fetal MRI for prenatal anomaly detection
- MRI of the brain, spinal cord, skull, and cranial nerves
- MRI of the abdomen and pelvis (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, uterus, ovaries, prostate)
- Cardiovascular and whole-body MRI angiography
- Musculoskeletal, spinal, and breast MRI
- MRI uses no X-rays, making it safe for children and pregnant women (as indicated)
Interventional and surgical support:
- Image-guided biopsy, aspiration, and drainage procedures
- Transesophageal ultrasound for catheter placement procedures
- Imaging support during orthopedic and vascular interventions
- Mobile C-arm X-ray and bedside ultrasound in intensive care units or operating rooms
