Taking a long-standing partnership to new heights
At the ceremony, representatives of the Board of Management of Hanoi French Hospital presented an overview of the hospital’s strategic direction, clinical expertise, and comprehensive healthcare services. In recent years, HFH has continuously invested in key specialties, including obstetrics and pediatrics, cardiology, stroke care, oncology, intensive care, and trauma management, while actively expanding international collaborations to align with advanced global standards of care.

He further noted that this partnership goes beyond referral of complex cases, fostering dynamic exchanges of expertise:

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Duc Hung, Director of Viet Duc University Hospital, highlighted: “As a top-tier, special-class surgical hospital, the Hospital consistently prioritizes strengthening professional support and transferring medical technologies to enhance the capacity of healthcare facilities. This cooperation signing not only helps reinforce professional collaboration between the two institutions but also creates favorable conditions for patients to access high-tech medical services.”

He stated: “Both hospitals share the same goal of improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for patients. This common objective forms the basis for our cooperation. As a Vietnamese proverb says, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.’”
The two hospitals will comprehensively coordinate in implementing professional support activities such as training and capacity building for human resources; providing professional consultations and treatment guidance for complex cases; and dispatching staff on a rotational basis for support.
In addition, both sides will collaborate to develop and strengthen key specialized departments in line with the development orientations of each institution.

Domino transplant success – a testament to effective collaboration
A key clinical highlight presented at the event was Vietnam’s first combined heart–liver transplant with domino liver transplantation, successfully performed by Viet Duc University Hospital for a patient accurately diagnosed with a rare disease at Hanoi French Hospital.
The 53-year-old male patient was diagnosed with hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis following comprehensive evaluations at Hanoi French Hospital. Through detailed clinical assessments, genetic testing, and biopsy analyses, the hospital established a robust and comprehensive medical record, forming the foundation for an optimal treatment strategy.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Duc Hung and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Nghia extended their appreciation and congratulations to Dr. Sabrina Stefanizzi (Neurology Department) and Dr. Pham Thu Thuy (Clinical and Interventional Cardiology Department) of Hanoi French Hospital for their accurate diagnosis and dedicated patient management.

Hanoi French Hospital also stated that it will support medical examinations, consultations, and genetic mutation testing for the patient’s family members, with the aim of facilitating early detection, screening, and timely treatment.
