In the first two weeks of November, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Duat chaired sections at large-scale scientific conferences on the diagnosis and treatment of digestive and hepatobiliary diseases.
Specifically, on November 1, 2024, at the National Scientific Conference on Infectious Diseases organized by the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Duat made significant contributions during a specialized session on functional exploration and imaging diagnostics applied in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal diseases in infectious disease patients.
The discussion focused on advances in diagnosing and treating diseases such as stomach cancer, colon polyps, gastrointestinal bleeding, Helicobacter pylori infection, cirrhosis, and fatty liver disease. This marked the first-time gastrointestinal diseases were discussed in-depth at the National Scientific Conference on Infectious Diseases. As chair of the session, Dr. Duat guided these important discussions, paving the way for comprehensive management of gastrointestinal diseases in Vietnam.
At the National Gastroenterology Scientific Conference held at the International Conference Center from November 7-9, 2024, gathering over 1,000 leading experts from within and outside Vietnam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Duat chaired a session on new techniques in emergency care and treatment for gastrointestinal diseases. The event also passed consensus guidelines on emergency treatment for portal hypertension and strategies for diagnosing and treating ulcerative colitis in Vietnam.
Commenting on these important events, Dr. Duat expressed: “Listening to the presentations, I was truly pleased with the advances in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal diseases in Vietnam and around the world. I am honored to contribute my insights to enhance the quality of professional exchanges, and I hope these discussions will continue to encourage doctors to strengthen their skills, engage in scientific research, and update the most effective treatment protocols for patients with gastrointestinal diseases.”
